Caleb and pop with Calebs' first salmon - Lake Waitaki Christmas Posted by Picasa

Busy Busy Busy

The week of Gideons incident, and the ensuing three have been absolute chaos at work, including a week long trip to Christchurch to implement a new wide area network and a new accounting practice management system. I've been totally stressed out, as some client work has turned to custard as well. The up shot of it all is that I've found that stress can help you lose weight. Yay, bring on the 88 kg version of Grant.
We had a bit of fun in Christchurch, taking Gideon mountainbiking at Bottle Lake Forest Park, and taking the other boys to the pool on a regular basis. We also had the opportunity to see my 90 year old grandparents from Nelson, which was awesome, because they were yet to meet little Daniel. Good times.

Hi All,

A bit of an overdue update. Apologies for the delay, The last four weeks have been chaos.

Two weeks ago Gideon managed to run halfway through our old back door(not the big new one), and wound up in the Emergency Department at the hospital. Sounds bad, could have been, but in the end, wasn't. Gideon was showing our neighbor how fast he can run inside.... and stopped himself on the back door. Unfortunately the 2nd payne of glass from the bottom (there are four) failed to stop him. He sorta got most of his body through the hole he had just created, and wound up dangling half in, half out. Sarah was freaking out, thinking he had just completely impaled himself.
Amazingly, the only piece of glass in the guy was located in his wrist. The ambulance boys came up and reckoned it was sufficiently close to artery/tendons/veins/nerves that hospital was the best place to go. So we did. 5 hours later Gideon walked out of the hospital with a lollipop and a sticky plaster. as Lyn, our non-church next door neighbor said "If I didn't believe in divine intervention before, I do now".
It's good to know that our Dad in heaven is looking after his boys, despite their occasional recklessness.
